Corbin Cawkell has been a trial lawyer with our firm since 2003. He has been involved in a significant number of high profile and complex cases at all levels of court. Corbin's success has resulted in several reported decisions. Corbin's focus on youths and individuals struggling with addictions extends beyond the criminal courts and often results in long term plans aimed at addressing the underlying problems leading to criminal involvement. He has worked extensively within the Drug Treatment court, the Aboriginal "Gladue" courts, and Diversion programs aimed at restorative and rehabilitative justice. He also has extensive experience defending people at trial on allegations of domestic assault, child abuse, fraud, narcotics, trafficking, guns and gangs. Currently he is working on several cases concerning civil rights that involve random stops of individuals by Police Officers for no apparent reason. Corbin received his BA with Honours from Dalhousie University in 1992 and he returned to university and received his LLB from Windsor in 1999. He was called to the Ontario Bar in April, 2001. Initially practicing in civil law, Corbin changed his career path and now practices exclusively in criminal law.
